Driving Cross-Border Growth in Logistics: Spotlight on Beto

With over two decades of leadership in rail and intermodal logistics, Beto brings unmatched cross border US & Mexico USMCA expertise and strategic vision to Russell-Kroese Partners.  Beto earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from Iberoamericana University, later adding a diploma in Marketing, Commercial, and Competitive Strategy from the same institution. His career began at Intermodal Mexico (2001–2005), where he conducted feasibility studies for Ferromex’s intermodal terminal network.

From 2005 to 2012, he advanced at Ferromex, ultimately serving as Associate Vice President of Intermodal. There, he consolidated the InterPacifico Service, opened the Cd. Juárez–Chihuahua auto parts corridor, and laid the foundation for the Eagle Premium service.

In 2012, Beto joined Werner Enterprises, where he spent eight years as Intermodal Director and Commercial Director. He spearheaded the growth of a cross-border intermodal network for dry and refrigerated cargo, managing a sales portfolio of more than $500 million.

From 2020 to 2025, Beto served as Vice President for Mexico at Union Pacific, leading a $2.8 billion business portfolio and driving 9% average growth. His tenure was marked by innovative initiatives such as programming train slots at Nogales, implementing international crews, launching the Falcon Premium intermodal service, expanding service between Mexico and the U.S. Southeast, and forging alliances with Mexican carriers to increase UP’s market share.

Beyond his corporate leadership, Beto has been deeply engaged in advancing the industry. He served as President of the Mexican Association of Intermodal Transportation (AMTI) from 2019–2023 and sat on the Board of Directors of Ferromex, where he chaired the Operations Committee. 

Today, Beto leverages this extensive experience in Mexico freight markets, cross-border operations, USMCA leadership, and rail and truck logistics to help clients solve complex logistics challenges, strengthen cross-border connectivity, and drive measurable results.
